Another Thing - workaholic
Rants January 2nd, 2008
As an addendum to the new years’ post, I found a quote today that I think I’d like to work into my next big graffiti project:
“Negotium populo Romano melius quam otium committi.” — Appius Claudius, 196
Literally, it says that Romans understand work better then leisure. This is more or less the same as saying “all work and no play makes Jack a dull boy”, but with larger circumstances. The fall of the vast Roman Empire seems a bit more of a “big picture” than does one dude being sort of nerdy and antisocial.
I’d also like to point out that there is a plethora of hilarious visual fodder at GIS, albeit largely either copyrighted or copyrighted without a “sharing” option, so you can go and look at them in the wild, so that I don’t get sued or anything. Looks like the Creative Commons people have a long way to go in making the creative community aware.
