Terry Pratchett, a favorite author to many (me included) has recently been diagnosed with an early onset form of Alzheimer’s Disease. Last year, he had what he thought was a mild stroke. He’s staying as active as possible and plans to complete at least a few more books.
I’ve seen the daily struggle and frustration that Alzheimer’s brings, and hope for breakthroughs in treatments.
If you enjoy fantasy fiction and/or British humor, and have never read anything by Pratchett, I would recommend Starting with “Good Omens”, which he co-authored with Neil Gaiman. Once you have had that taste, start picking up the Discworld series, which has been steadily growing for over 30 years now. The series is not a “serial”, so you can start at any point. There are recurring characters, but each book stands on its own.
